Something Sweet

Hello my darlings!

How’s your week going? Mine has been so busy! My family is coming to our apartment this weekend to celebrate my birthday, so I’ve been cleaning all week! On top of work and cleaning the house, it just doesn’t seem like I have a moment of free time! I truly enjoy these weeks though, they make me feel so productive!

I just made the most delicious guacamole for dinner, and I’m seriously drooling over it. Since I have been kicking so much butt this week, I decided to make a super easy, delicious chocolately peanut butter treat.. Yum! It’s my way of congratulating myself. πŸ˜‰

So, now on to the main event! DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! The treat we’re making today is called, CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PRETZEL BARK! Isn’t that a mouthful!?

Let’s get started!

The first thing that you will need is your ingredients, of course:

1 (12oz) bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 (16oz) bag of mini pretzels (you’ll only need 8oz’s of the bag)

1 (4oz) bag of Reese’s Pieces candy

1/2 cup of honey

1/3 cup of sugar

1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1: Take a large baking sheet, and line it with parchment paper. This will help the bark come off easily from the baking sheet!

Step 2: Melt about 8oz of the chocolate chips in the microwave, in 15-30 second increments.

Step 3: Spread the melted chocolate evenly on the parchment paper. Quickly lay the pretzels and Reese’s Pieces over the melted chocolate. Press the pretzels and Reese’s Pieces into the chocolate a little so they don’t move around.

Step 4: Now, we’re going to make the Peanut Butter Sauce, in a medium saucepan pour the sugar and honey over medium heat. Stir the ingredients together, and wait for a boil. Stir the ingredients while boiling for one more minute. Take the pan off the heat, and pour in the peanut butter, stir until smooth. Finally, stir in the vanilla and pour over the pretzels and Reese’s Pieces.

Step 5: Take the last 4 ounces of chocolate and melt it down. Drizzle over the bark for a cute final touch.

Step 6: Put the bark in the refrigerator until hard. Once the bark is hard, break into pieces and enjoy! πŸ™‚
